Capuchino Millbrae Homes and Neighborhood Guide
Millbrae neighborhood guide
Capuchino is a residential neighborhood at the north end of Millbrae, climbing west from El Camino Real toward Green Hills Country Club. Streets such as Capuchino Drive, Bayview Avenue, Park Boulevard and San Juan Avenue run through the area.
Local history ties this part of town to the Sánchez family of Rancho Buri Buri: José de la Cruz Sánchez built a corral and home on land south of today's Capuchino High School and lived there until his death in 1879.
Today Capuchino is known for its winding streets, hillside homes and closeness to the country club greenbelt, while still being minutes from El Camino Real and the Millbrae transit hub.

Homes and Streets
Capuchino's housing is mostly detached single family homes, with a large share built in the late 1940s. Single story ranch homes, such as a 1948 example on Bayview Avenue, are common, along with split level homes that work with the slope. Some later contemporary homes appear on the upper streets, including parts of Lomita Avenue.
Lots on the flatter east side near El Camino Real are more regular, while streets farther west climb into the hills, where some homes look out over the Bay.
