Belle Haven Menlo Park Homes and Neighborhood Guide

Also known as East Menlo Park

Menlo Park neighborhood guide

Belle Haven is the only Menlo Park neighborhood east of Highway 101, tucked between the freeway, Willow Road and the Bayfront Expressway. It was annexed into the city in 1949, and today it sits closest of any Menlo Park neighborhood to the Bay shoreline and the wildlife refuge beyond it.

The neighborhood has deep roots as a historically Black community shaped by the Great Migration, and in recent decades it has become predominantly Latino. That layered history shows up in strong neighborhood groups and local efforts to document Belle Haven's story.

In 2024 the city opened the Belle Haven Community Campus on Terminal Avenue, bringing a library, pool, recreation center and senior center together in one place, right next to Kelly Park.

Because the neighborhood sits right off Willow Road and the Bayfront Expressway, it offers quick access to Highway 101, the Dumbarton Bridge and the large office campuses along the bayfront.
