Fairmeadow is known for its concentric circle streets, Carlson Circle and Ramona Circle among them, laid out in the early 1950s with Joseph Eichler, between Alma Street, East Meadow Drive and East Charleston Road.
Mitchell Park, with its library and community center, borders the neighborhood, as do Fairmeadow Elementary and JLS Middle School. The circular layout means almost no through traffic and a strong neighborhood identity.
