This MLS area takes in downtown Millbrae along El Camino Real and Broadway and the Millbrae Highlands, which rise west of El Camino Real toward Skyline Boulevard. Streets include Broadway, Hillcrest Boulevard, Taylor Boulevard, Vista Grande, Chadbourne Avenue and S. Ashton Avenue.

Millbrae Highlands was established in 1927 by developer Niels Schultz. A 1939 brochure describes building beginning in 1929 and continuing through the Depression, with paved, tree lined streets and hundreds of new homes by 1937.

Downtown is Millbrae's main street, with small shops and restaurants along Broadway, and it sits close to Millbrae Station, the only place where BART connects directly to Caltrain.

Homes and Streets

The Highlands includes some of Millbrae's earlier subdivision homes, built from the late 1920s and 1930s onward, along with later infill such as 1960s contemporaries on Colorados Drive. Streets climb steadily west from El Camino Real, so many lots are sloped and some homes have Bay views.

Closer to downtown, the housing shifts to condominiums and apartments, including newer buildings near Broadway and the station. The Gateway at Millbrae, completed in 2023 on former station parking lots, added apartments, a hotel and offices.
