North Los Altos Homes and Neighborhood Guide
Los Altos neighborhood guide
North Los Altos is the broad area between Foothill Expressway and El Camino Real, from El Monte Avenue up to Adobe Creek and the Palo Alto line. It was prune and avocado orchards until the early 1950s, when most of the homes went up.
Original ranch homes are steadily being replaced with Craftsman and Mediterranean designs, near Lincoln Park, Hillview Park and the Hillview Community Center. It is the most convenient part of Los Altos for commuters, with El Camino Real, San Antonio Road and the Caltrain stations in Mountain View and Palo Alto close by.

Homes and Streets
North Los Altos is where you see the town changing fastest. Classic one story ranch homes on quarter acre lots sit next to brand new two story homes, and streets closer to downtown and the Hillview campus command the highest prices. The flat lots, good schools and quick access to El Camino Real keep demand high from tech families.
