Old Los Altos Homes and Neighborhood Guide

Los Altos neighborhood guide

Old Los Altos holds the oldest residential streets in town, west of Foothill Expressway along University Avenue and the streets around it, with a few homes well over 100 years old on larger lots under old oaks and redwoods.

Shoup Park, the city's first park, dedicated in 1955, and the Redwood Grove Nature Preserve sit along Adobe Creek here, and downtown is just across Foothill. The Los Altos Hills border is a short walk west.

Homes and Streets

Lots run larger than in most of Los Altos, and the streets mix early 1900s farmhouses and cottages, mid century ranches and substantial new custom homes, often behind mature hedges. The creek, the trees and the short walk to the Village make this one of the most desirable pockets in town, with prices to match.
